Where we work

As part of the Reef Check network, we offer high quality local community citizen science and reef monitoring with a global connection.

We got our start in Townsville in 2001, and quickly began fine tuning our specialist Reef Check methodology to ensure accurate replication. Since then, we have expanded to more than 75 priority locations along the Queensland coast and will be growing our citizen science activities on Western Australia's Ningaloo Coast.

We continue to work to build strong community hubs that empower people to protect reefs and oceans through citizen science. We connect communities to information and each other in order to enhance conservation outcomes.
