Switch off to Switch Off for Earth Hour - Gold Coast
Come and celebrate EARTH HOUR in our Switch off to Switch off event on the Gold Coast on Saturday March 28! As the world switches off its lights in solidarity for Earth Hour on Saturday March 28th, Reef Check Australia, along with Yogaventures, invite you to switch off your mind as well, for our Yoga Nidra (relaxation) session
Join Yoga Teacher and Marine Conservation Campaigner Mollie Cox for a deeply restorative candlelight Yoga Nidra (relaxation) session for Earth Hour. Turn out the lights, calm the nervous system, and switch off… all for a good cause. If meditation is not your cup of tea then this ultimate relaxation practice of Yoga Nidra surely will be! You’ll be guided into yummy reclined postures with bolsters, eye pillows and other props for ultimate comfort and max relaxation. Expect body scans, breath work and simple mantras allowing us to move away from the mind and into the heart space.
The event will be from 6.30-7.30pm, but please arrive early as we will start on time! This is a fundraising event, with all funds donated to Reef Check Australia to continue our vital work of conducting reef health surveys within South East Queensland, and to assist with training of new Reef Ambassadors and Surveyors.
What is Earth Hour?
Every year hundreds of millions of people around the world in more than 7,000 cities and over 180 countries take part in this amazing global conservation movement. People do a wide range of things around the hour to show they care about our planet’s future. Millions choose to mark Earth Hour by going ‘lights out’ for 60 minutes at 8.30pm – a symbolic show of solidarity.
6.00-6.30pm: Grab a spot (don't forget to BYO yoga mat!)
6:30pm: The lights go out and Yoga kicks off
7:30pm: Event finishes
