Just IMAGINE the impact of all of us turning our lights off at home, coming together as one, and creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere, in the craziness of today.
Reef Check Australia values the health and wellbeing of our staff, volunteers and community. We strive to provide an environment which is as safe as possible for our community and our team. We’re also committed to keeping you informed and empowered and we acknowledge that the safest way to provide an inclusive community event at the present time is to be flexible in our presentation – SO, we’re getting innovative and harnessing the power of virtual and live event experiences!
HOW IT WORKS:
We’re extremely lucky to collaborate with like-minded innovative members of the community like Adam Sellars, who is going to give you the best ultimate Virtual mediation experience!
Stay home – get comfy and enjoy this ground-breaking experience! Grab your ticket ($15 +BF) and we'll send you a link that will go live on Saturday 28th at 6.30pm (AEST). When you’re all set up on your laptop, desktop, phone, ipad, TV, device - turn your lights off, light a candle and tune in to Adams directions!
Spend an hour with Adam guiding you through everything from free diving to meditation to how you can deal with eco-anxiety, followed by a short guided mindfulness meditation and advanced visualisation flow. This is some serious insight into Adams profession - Australian freediving representative, Director of the Pressure Project. Seen him before? #Bachelorette…
The ticket fee is a donation to Reef Check Australia to continue our vital work of conducting reef health surveys in south east Qld, and to assist with training of new Reef Ambassadors! We can only ask that you will be patient as we navigate the virtual world! If you hate this idea, and have already purchased a ticket, we are happy to apply a credit for another event when face to face is less virtual!
It’s an interesting time we are in at the present, and we are excited to be breaking ground and pioneering new ways of experiencing, learning and in this case, relaxing!
Reef Check Australia doesn’t want you to miss out on seeing your IMPACT so we’ve changed the time so everyone can continue on the evening by tuning in to #EarthHourLive! from 7.30pm (AEST), they’ll be hosting an exciting livestream on earthhour.org.au packed with live crosses to lights off around the country!
What is Earth Hour?
Every year hundreds of millions of people around the world in more than 7,000 cities in over 180 countries take part in this global conservation movement. People do a wide range of things around the hour to show they care about our planet’s future. Millions choose to mark Earth Hour by going ‘lights out’ for 60 minutes at 8.30pm local time – a symbolic show of solidarity.
2020 is a pivotal year for the planet and the most important Earth Hour ever. Participating in Earth Hour 2020 is an opportunity to show decision making world leaders that we put the environment at the top of the agenda, to protect the future of the one home we all share.
Pease, stay safe and respectful of each other and come, relax, enjoy and get involved!
