Lauren Jubb

Moreton Bay Coordinator - (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday)

Lauren grew up in South East Asia, experiencing reefs all over the globe.  Swimming from the age of three and beginning scuba diving at 13, the ocean has always been her love. Since returning to Australia in 2013, she has become a divemaster and her drive and passion for conservation has led her towards a career in protecting our reefs through science and raising awareness.

Lauren attained a bachelor’s degree in Science at The Australian National University in Canberra, however, was itching to get back to the coastline. Since coming on board the Reef Check Australia team, she has completed a master’s degree in Conservation Science at The University of Queensland. She has assisted in various marine projects, such as determining the importance of sea cucumbers on Heron Island and studying the changes of coral phylogeny to sea temperature changes in association with climate change.

Lauren started with Reef Check Australia as a reef surveyor and is incredibly grateful to be part of the SEQ team and be helping to protect our marine environments through accurate and effective science. She currently organises surveys and ambassador events for the Moreton Bay region.
