Fitzroy Island Clean Up and Survey!
Reef Check Australia, in partnership with Tangaroa Blue, are running a ReefClean beach cleanup, underwater cleanup and RCA survey at Fitzroy Island on 19 and 20 October. You can join us for one or both days and either stay dry and help collect marine debris along the beach OR get wet during a dive/snorkel underwater cleanup AND even a RCA survey (if you're trained up)!
We will be carpooling from Townsville for these events so allow for travel time to Cairns. The only costs to you will be the accommodation/gear (if applicable) and your own food/petrol. These will be great days/weekends out in the ocean.
Cleanup snorkeller requirements:
Medical Fitness: Currently fit and healthy to snorkel
Cleanup diver requirements:
Competency: AOW diver and 18yo+
Experience: 25 logged dives (one within last 12 months)
Medical Fitness: Currently fit and healthy to dive
RCA survey diver requirements:
Training: Completed the RCA surveyor course
Competency: PADI AQF Rescue Diver (or above)
Experience: 30 logged dives
Medical Fitness: A current Occupational Dive Medical AS2299.
