Coast to Coral Sunshine Coast: Who is Sleeping in a Bed of Seagrass?

Come and join Reef Check Australia and friends at SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast for an evening of discovery, inspiration and appreciation of our local marine, coastal and catchment environments. Each month we have a new, interesting and engaging speaker.

This month we'll hear from Michele Jackson. Michele is currently completing a Master’s Degree in Coastal Research supported by the University of the Sunshine Coast and Sunshine Coast Council. One of her annual projects that she coordinates is seagrass mapping and reporting.

Originating from Melbourne, Michele has spent her career to date on projects including National Heritage areas, Threatened Species Unit, National Parks, and independent consulting and research after completing a Bachelor Degree in Environmental Management and Physics, followed by a Post Graduate in Policy and Natural Resource Management.

In recent years she has worked with a coastal team on programs and projects including fish biodiversity surveys, seagrass mapping, marine species sampling, marine litter reduction and coastal project planning and coordination.

Come along and learn about the seagrass communities in your region, and the awesome critters that live there!

The talk will be held in the Seal Stadium at SEALIFE Mooloolaba, on Parkyn Parade, Mooloolaba. Come along at 6:15 pm for a 6:30 pm start. Stay after the event for a discussion with the presenter and other attendees and enjoy a pizza-rific snack.

6:15: Grab a seat (door close at 6.40!)
6:30: Talk kicks-off
7:15: Pizza & good sea-minded conversation!

Entry is $2 (which gets you pizza at the end).

This initiative is hosted by Reef Check Australia, and proudly supported by Sunshine Coast Council's Environmental Partnerships grant with amazing in-kind support from SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast Aquarium
