Coast To Coral (Sunshine Coast) Dinosaur Oceans?
Our Coast to Coral Community Lecture series is back for 2019! Come and join Reef Check Australia and friends at Underwater World Sealife - Mooloolaba, Sunshine Coast, Australia for an evening of discovery, inspiration and appreciation of our local marine, coastal and catchment environments. Each month we have a new, interesting and engaging speaker.
This month we'll hear from Shayan Barmand, from the Cleanwater Group. Shayan is a sustainability professional with seven years of experience working in the United States, Qatar, South Africa and Australia. Shayan worked with the United Nations Association in San Diego while completing a bachelors degree in International Relations.
As a post-graduate, he focused on global change science and Planetary Boundaries while studying climate change and sustainable development at the University of Cape Town and was a contributing author on the United Nations Environment Program’s 6th Global Environment Outlook report.
He currently works with the Cleanwater Group in Coolum Beach, a profit for purpose business that focuses on reducing plastic pollution and other marine debris from entering our waterways and ocean.
Doors open at 6:15 pm for a 6:30 pm start. Stay after the event for a discussion with the presenter and other attendees and enjoy a pizza-rific snack.
